I imagine most of you are taking advantage of our lovely summer weather to lounge about and peruse Foster's How to Read Literature Like a Professor.
I post not to interrupt your idyll, but to bring you news. Sadly, your promised Google accounts will not be ready until just before school begins. This means that we will be using Moodle. The good news is that, should you be interested, the online course is now up and ready for enrollment. The directions on your handout seem to be accurate. Please use a username and password you will not forget. The course enrollment key is Logger (and yes, the initial capital matters). Let me know if you have any questions or problems.
Once enrolled, you will find part 3 of the summer assignment. This consists of two separate discussion boards due on 8/12 and 8/19 respectively; however, I encourage you to post early and check back regularly. If you do so, the experience should be helpful and intellectually rewarding, not just busy work. At the very least, log in ASAP and read through the assignments. I will be in touch in early August about part 4 of the summer assignment.
Finally, for whatever reason, I am missing email from three folks. If you know any of them, please pass on this email.
I look forward to your thoughts on How to Read Literature Like a Professor. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
